Film Viewing: Debbas

The award winning film’s director, Mr. Makonnen Woldeab will give an introduction to the film and a short presentation about the film industry in Eritrea. The movie is based on a 300 year old Legend (Oral History, etc.,) during the Feudal Era in the Highlands. The film was rated as the Best Picture of 2013 in Eritrea. The film was awarded the PLATINUM REMI award in Theatrical Feature Films & Video at the Houston International Independent Film Festival. It is stared by actors like Awet Abraha, Ghizenesh Menghis, Michael Emahatsion (Jende), Meron Estifanos and others. And it was written by Simon Habtemariam and Directed by Makonnen Woldeab.
